Setting up FrameReady on your network

Important: DO NOT install FrameReady on any computer other than the Host computer.

1. The default protocol for networking is TCP/IP. It is recommended that each computer be assigned a static IP address. If you are unfamiliar with setting up a computer network, then hire a network technician to do it for you.

2. Install FrameReady on the Host computer. The Host computer should be your fastest, most powerful computer. The information on the Host computer will be shared with the other computers via the network.

3. Install FMP on all computers on the network. The name of the computer is automatically entered as the Username during the installation process. The username is the name FileMaker uses in the Hosts dialog box to identify each computer. If you wish to change the Username, see the section “Change the Network Username”.

4. You will now need to set FrameReady to Multi-user.
