Adjusting Labels for Your Printer

Due to variations in printers and print drivers, labels may not line up as they should on a sheet. In such cases, the label layout will need to be adjusted to accommodate your particular printer. This procedure can only be accomplished using a full version of FMP software.

1. Open FrameReady with level4 account and password.

2. Go to Contacts file > View menu > Status Toolbar.

The screen will shift down and reveal the Status Toolbar with a flip book on the top left.

3. Click on the Layout pop up menu. Choose Labels.

The screen will change to show one label only for the current customer.

If no customers are present, the screen will be blank. It is not necessary to have a customer name showing.

5. Choose View menu > Layout Mode.

The screen will change to show you the layout of the Label.

6. In order to adjust the margins choose Layouts > Layouts Setup.

The following dialog box appears.

7. Click in the Use fixed page margins box.

8. Enter the correct page margin size. If the amount of measurement is not indicated in inches (in) read the section of Size Box to change it to the measurement you prefer to work with.

It is recommended that the bottom measure be slightly less than the actual amount of paper on the label sheet. The amounts in the fixed page margins fields on the screen should match the amount of space between the label and the edge of the paper. If you have a header on the screen, be sure to take the measurement of the header into account or remove it.

9. Click OK.

10. Choose Layout > Browse mode.

11. Click on Labels again and select Form View.

Tip: While adjusting your labels, use a scrap piece of paper and print only one page. When the print dialog box appears, select page 1 of 1.
