Before getting into how to set up your own pricing formula, this article looks at the program default formula pricing for moulding which was pre-loaded into your FrameReady program. This formula bases the retail price per foot of your moulding on how you order it.
When you received your program, all of the moulding was set to be ordered as Length. The radio button on the Auto Inv tab indicates how you will order this moulding and which wholesale cost (Length [Cost], Chop or Join) will be used to calculate the retail price per foot.
If you select to order your moulding by Length, then FrameReady will look first in the Cost field ("Cost" is the actual name of the field that is used for Length pricing. This is important for setting up a pricing formula). If it does not find a wholesale cost in that field, then it will look in the Chop field. If it too is blank, then it will base your retail price on the amount in the Join field.
The following chart shows a sliding scale formula for moulding based on the Cost field. If you select to price (and order) your moulding by Length, then FrameReady will apply the appropriate markup based on the corresponding cost (see chart).
